Worker Training

This course is recommended for new hires as well as annual training for existing employees.

This is a 90-minute session in a classroom setting with time for questions at the end. There is a minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 attendees.
Topics include:

  • The mechanics of how we are injured
  • What you can do about it
  • How to work at a computer without injury
  • Upper body anatomy
  • How to set up your desk
  • Awkward postures
  • Worker habit vs work design
  • Muscle load and muscle recovery

Management Training

Training requires a commitment of one day, either on site or a secondary location.

Topics include:

  • How the body becomes injured
  • How to evaluate equipment (desks, chairs, and lighting)
  • Mitigating risks and monitoring productivity
  • Accelerated recovery
  • Implementing your ergonomics program (goals, workflow, and actions)
  • When to recommend equipment
  • Deciding what equipment changes are needed (wants vs needs)
  • Managing “Perceived Workplace Entitlement”
  • Setting up well designed work spaces (both sitting and standing)
  • Current theories and considerations for larger workspace design (noise, lighting, spacing)

One-On-One Evaluations

This is a private, individual evaluation which requires 60-80 minutes of time. This is perfect for addressing specific issues.

Our time together covers the following:

  • Short interview regarding the current pain patterns
  • Work observation before and after any changes
  • Discussion of what may be contributing to those pain patterns
  • Muscle load and muscle recover
  • How to set up your desk
  • How to work smarter, using the 3 work zones, pacing, and doing stretches
  • Recommendations for working habits and any equipment that may be needed
